Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Canada!

June 5, 2008 -- We just returned from our third trip to Canada, as part of the national tour.

Of course the very first stop when going from the USA into  Canada, is
Customs>>  And what a start to an amazing visit to our neighbors to the north.  And true to form we can't show up and have nothing happen ... just wouldn't seem right, ya know?

And so it was that as we were inside taking BadAss shots and getting the banners signed, that we heard a huge "BANG!"  All of us jumped up, fearing that one of our cars had just been hit hard.

As it turned out, it was the Sarnia Fire Training car that was hit when a man in a pickup with a quad in the truck bed backed into the car.  There is over $5000 worth of damage to the front end of the vehicle.

We tried to make the best of it, and ended up getting a photo op out of it all.  As it turned out, the driver had been with a fire department in Ontario and was wearing the shirt.  (Can you see this one coming?)

Yup, Kevin spotted the shirt and we then advised the guy what we were doing and let him know that he'd have to give up his shirt.  He was a great sport, and not only gave it up right on the spot, but also signed it.  You have to give the guy credit for allowing us to make light of the situation.  Hope he's reading this and sees his photos.

We were able to get our Core Team and a few others up with us.  We're never able to travel together, so this one was the special trip.  We wanted you to be able to meet the rest of the team in case we can't do this again.

Watch for pix of Larry & Chani Kaibetoney, Leta Kaibetony, Shannon Spencer & Brad Jackson.

We had a blast and filled a LOT in to just a week's period of time.  There are several thousand photos that still have to be edited, but I wanted to start getting up the ones that are done.

So stay tuned as I edit, and you will eventually get to see all that happened ... Okay, maybe not all, but you'll get the feel of our visit.

Thank you to the great folks at Customs for making us feel so welcome right from the start.  Carol, the entire team was outstanding.  Thank youall!!!

We'll start from the beginning and take you day by day ... and some evenings as well, as they were pretty special, too.  The story behind the photos will be added after the fact so that you can have access to your smiling faces first.

Remember that you are more than welcome to cut & paste these pix for honorable purposes.  Be sure to enlarge them first, or you will have a mere thumbnail.  Also, if you choose to post any of them anywhere please give credit where credit is due:  Photos courtesy of HeroToHero.US Troop Morale Campaign.

Here we go ....
