Time to step up!

**Jan 19 ... Today a box of shirts arrived from Janet in Coconut Creek, Florida.  The shirts are mostly from North Lauderdale Fire Rescue.  SALUTE & THANKS!  Keep 'em coming!

**Jan 17 ... SALUTE TO BUFFALO, NEW YORK!  4 boxes of shirts arrived this afternoon!  As always, nice job guys!  Thanks to Pete (IAFF Local 282) and all of the crews at one of our favorite stops!  (We'll update the graph)

Okay, we are inside the 30 day window for the shirt deadline.  Time to get everybody to pony up!

Every stop on the national tour committed to get us shirts ... You know who you are!  ( ;

We closed adoptions at midnight on new Year's Eve with requests from 7,000 (!!!) Troops for the shirts off your backs.

This is the largest request amount we have ever had.  We have never had to turn a soldier away.  And with the new deployments, morale could use a boost.  Please don't let them down.

The photos above represent some of the shirts we have received throughout this effort ... BUT the graph shows you our situation.  We are about halfway there.

A few of the shirts may look familiar from past year's efforts.  That's because we received more shirts than we asked for in the past, and were able to set aside the tank tops and shorts for our wounded Troops, and cold weather wear for the parts of the desert that get bone-biting cold winters.  Unless we get enough to cover this shipment, we will have to use those reserves to answer the call.

One of the questions we get is which departments have really done their part and given above and beyond?  This year that would be Boston FD, Sacramento FD, New Haven PD, and St Paul PD.  All of them gave us several cases of brand new shirts, and will make a lot of Troops smile.  We salute each of them, and thank them from the bottoms of our hearts!

For the record, you DO makea difference ...  This came to us recently, from a SeaBee named Adam.  On further correspondence, his shirt came from Sevierville FD, in Tennessee.

Thank you for your support!  We love the shirts!  I'll wear mine with
pride when I get back to Alaska.  Unfortunately, we aren't allowed to
have cameras where we are stationed, so I can't send you any pictures.
I really appreciate what groups like your's do for the troops over
here, and it is a great morale boost.  Thank you again, Adam.

From another SeaBee ...

I am a Petty Officer 1st Class in the Seabees.  Our battalion is NMCB 18 and is based out of Fort Lewis, Wa.  I really appreciate the packages you sent with all of the shirts.  I take great pride in the service you all do back home for us for a great reason.  I too have been in law enforcement for the last 18 years.  I have worked for the Spokane, Wa. Police Department, the Ritzville, Wa. Police Department, and currently am a Sergeant with Oregon DOC.  I work at Two Rivers Correctional Institute.  My time here goes fast as I am usually outside the wire.  I am the Assistant Convoy Commander for a convoy security team named "Piledriver".  We are currently changing history over here in Iraq as we provide escort to numerous truck drivers of various nationalities.  I personally wanted to thank you for all of the shirts that came off the backs of home town heroes in support of what we are doing over here.

Thank you,
BU1(SCW) Young

And from a military spouse ...

Aloha, my name is Nicole and I am writing to extend my warmest thanks to your organization for everything that you do for our troops.  A while back, I had found your website and thought it was by far one of the most wonderful ideas I had come across.  I had put my husband's name, who was deployed to Iraq, on your site and let it go at that.  Now, my husband is safely home from Iraq, thank God for that, and I was doing some laundryand came across a shirt out of his duffle bag I had never seen.  I unfolded the shirt to find that it was a HerotoHero shirt.  I immediately knew what it was, but asked him about it to see what he was told about it.  He told me that his entire unit received shirts and that no one had any idea where they had come from.  He told me how this was such an awe ins moment for his soldiers because it really showed that people out there care for the troops and appreciate their sacrifices.  I just want to thank you again for the support you show and please know it is appreciated.
Much Respect and Thanks,
Nicole

Please make sure to get your shirts here by the deadline.  It is Feb 14th/Valentine's Day.
